The Romantic Conn Cullin Recreational Trail

A study has been carried out to investigate the feasibility of creating a walking trail from Knockmore village to Healy’s Hotel in Pontoon.

The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Mr. Michael Ring TD will officially launch the feasibility study on

Friday 29th November at 7:30pm in the Knockmore-Rathduff Resource Centre

All members of the community are warmly invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

If you love the Pontoon / Knockmore area and long to see it vibrant again, come along and show your support for this fantastic initiative.

The potential for this project is huge in terms of regenerating the Pontoon and Knockmore area. Not alone will it create a safe walkway or cycle way for you and your children but it will also attract tourists and visitors to our beautiful surrounds with the potential for job creation and more employment in the area. We’ve seen the positive impact the Greenway has had on the regeneration of the Newport, Mulranny and Achill – remote areas of Mayo – let’s bring that positivity to our area. Together, this is our opportunity, as members of the community to be part of a bright, proactive and healthy future for Knockmore and Pontoon.
